OSHA Establishes Partnership To Protect Potawatomi Hotel Project Workers – Milwaukee Worker’s Compensation Lawyer

The United States Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced a partnership with the Milwaukee Building & Construction Trades Council, AFL-CIO in order to help protect workers during the Potawatomi Hotel construction project in Milwaukee. The hotel, which is more than 370,00 square feet and an estimated $47 million project, is being constructed next to the Potawatomi Bingo Casino. The expected completion date is the summer of 2014. Officials estimate the project will employ approximately 250 tradesmen in the construction.

The partnership puts a focus on safety goals. The have outlined the aim as maintaining lost-time injury and illnesses at a rate of 25 percent below the national industry average; increasing safety training and increasing awareness and safety procedures involving powered industrial vehicles and falls in construction.
