Milwaukee Worker’s Compensation Attorney – Worker Dies At Madison Hotel

A worker fell to his death at a downtown Madison hotel last week. Unfortunately, accidents like these are more common than anyone would like. Anyone who has lost a loved one in a work-related accident should consult a Milwaukee worker’s compensation attorney who can fight for the compensation survivors deserve.

Milwaukee Worker’s Compensation Attorney Discusses Accident

According to reports, a 40-year-old man from Cambridge died Monday afternoon at the Edgewater Hotel construction site in downtown Madison. The medical examiner said the man died from injuries suffered in a fall. It was not clear what he was doing at the time of the accident nor what his job was at the construction site.

Construction has been ongoing at the site since the end of 2012 and the hotel is expected to reopen later in 2014. The Occupational Safety & Health Administration investigators headed to the scene to begin an investigation into the accident.

According to OSHA’s web site, 3,945 workers were killed in 2012 and nearly 20 percent of those deaths were in construction. Of the construction deaths, falls account for 36 percent of fatalities, followed by being struck by an object, being electrocuted and being caught in or between something. OSHA has coined these the “fatal four” and they account for nearly three out of five construction. Eliminating the fatal four would save an estimated 435 lives yearly.

If you have lost a loved one in a construction-related accident or have suffered an injury in a construction-related accident, it is important to speak with an experienced Milwaukee worker’s compensation attorney, who will help you get the compensation you deserve.
