Worker’s Compensation Milwaukee – Milwaukee Company Fined $106K For Safety Violations

The Occupational Safety & Health Administration cited a Milwaukee metal stamp plant for 14 safety violations and proposed it pays penalties of $106,000 for the infractions. The plant received seven serious citations, four of those relating to a lack of machine guarding and the remaining three which included:

  • inadequate lockout/tagout procedures training
  • failing to certify periodic inspections of energy control procedures

It also received six other-than-serious violations, namely:

  • failing to inspect slings prior to use
  • lack of employee training on bloodborne pathogens initially and annually failing to certify powered industrial truck training records
  • failing to perform pre-shift inspections of forklifts
  • forklift nameplates were not legible.

The company has 15 business days to comply and pay the penalties, request an informal conference or contest the findings.
