OSHA Fines Roofing Co. $102,300 For Violations

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration cited roofing contractor Martha A. Alvarez with six safety violations for failure to provide fall protection at three Wisconsin job sites.

The Houston-based company is facing fines of $102,300 for the violations at two separate sites in Cambridge and one in Janesville.

Three of the violations were willful violations of failing to provide fall protection on roofs at three separate sites. Three of the violations were serious violations and were for failing to implement a safety and health program.

OSHA standards require an effective form of fall protection like guardrails or safety nets be in use when workers perform construction at a height of six feet or higher.
